The Winston and Merle Roach Camp Leadership Fund: Supporting Black Youth Leadership in United Church Camping
For five decades, Winston and Merle Roach, dedicated church leaders in East Toronto, actively served their community and raised two girls and two boys in their Riverdale home. Their impact extended beyond family to embrace a diverse community, including Jamaican and Caribbean diaspora members, congregation, students, clients, and beneficiaries of their social ministries. Following their parents’ passing in 2020, their children established The Winston and Merle Roach Camp Leadership Fund to memorialize their legacy, fostering Black youth leadership in United Church camps and promoting equity, creating a lasting impact for generations to come.
