Making Your Church Building a Community Asset - Online Course with Katja Brittain
Is your congregation struggling to keep your church building? Selling your church isn’t always the only solution. What if instead you opened your doors and turned your building into a centre for your community, a place where groups of people pay you to use various rooms at various times for various activities.
Many congregations have considered this but decided against it because they didn’t know how to start or figured they would have to hire someone to run such an operation. Katja Brittain specializes in helping congregations turn their buildings from liabilities into assets once again.
In this course she shares her wisdom and experience, providing a step-by-step method to build a team, formulate a plan, get the word out, determine the right prices to charge, figure out how to make sure it runs smoothly, and most of all, reach your community in a natural way while earning revenue to help the congregation turn the building around from barely surviving to thriving. Not only does she tell you how to do all this, but she gives you her blueprint for success, her contracts, forms, and spreadsheets that you can use on day one as though you had been doing this for years. Nurturing Church Staff Teams - Online Course with Linda Butler and Warren McDougall
An effective church staff team is greater than the sum of its parts. Whether you’re building a new team, or looking to strengthen and improve an established one, “Nurturing Church Staff Teams” explores what makes a church staff team effective. This is intended for all church staff members, including ministry personnel, administrators, custodians, musicians and choir directors, communications personnel, and child and youth leaders. Through a series of guided sessions, your team members will be encouraged to examine their roles in relation to one another, understand each other’s gifts and personalities, and work intentionally on the team relationship. Together, you will learn strategies to manage conflict, practice giving and receiving feedback, and reflect on your communication to enrich the health of your team and model effective teamwork to your congregation. Sign up for this self-directed course on CHURCHx and learn at your own pace. The course fee is $100.
