W. Shannon Potter - Executive Director
Shannon joined TUCC in 2026 and brings over two decades of leadership experience across faith-based and charitable organizations. With a collaborative, mission-focused approach, he is committed to strengthening communities of faith and supporting their long-term sustainability. His work has focused on guiding organizations through transition, growth, and renewal, integrating strategic leadership with strong governance, financial stewardship, and relational leadership. Shannon has led multi-staff teams, overseen complex operations, and partnered closely with Boards to support effective decision-making and organizational health. He is passionate about fostering environments where diverse voices are heard, partnerships are strengthened, and shared purpose leads to meaningful impact in local communities. Ron Ewart - Retiring Executive Director
Ron joined TUCC in 2005 and has been Executive Director since 2014. Ordained by the United Reformed Church in the United Kingdom following studies at Oxford University, he has been a member of the order of ministry of the United Church of Canada since 2001. Ron has exercised local and regional church leadership in a variety of settings including ecumenical chaplaincy, ethnic ministry, and world mission education. Contact Ron at ron@tucc.ca or ex. 28.
Ali Hayes – Mission Impact & Communications Lead
Ali joined TUCC in 2011 and oversees the organization’s print and digital communications, including the website, social media, and e-newsletters, ensuring clear, consistent, and mission-aligned messaging across all platforms. Ali also supports fundraising, donor and granting stewardship, and CHURCHx initiatives through content creation, data management, and storytelling that highlights impact. With a background in environmental studies, she continues to contribute to TUCC’s environmental programming and broader mission-focused work. Contact Ali at ali@tucc.ca or ex. 31.
Joyce Kung CPA, CA - Director of Finance and Operations
Joyce earned her CPA, CA in 2011 and worked in public accounting before joining TUCC in 2014. Together with the Finance team, she is responsible for the delivery of finance services such as accounting, budgeting and reporting in accordance with legislative requirements and organisational policies and strategies. Joyce’s work also supports the delivery of programs such as the Investing in Ministry Fund and property stewardship. Contact Joyce at joyce@tucc.ca or ex. 24.
Louise Kung - Finance Manager
Louise has supported TUCC in both contract and maternity leave roles since 2015, officially joining the team full-time in 2025. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a specialization in finance and arts, and previously worked at a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) firm, where she gained experience in personal and corporate tax preparation. She assists in property management and is responsible for accounts payable, general accounting, and financial reporting, supporting TUCC’s operations with care, accuracy, and professionalism. Effie MacMurchy - Accounts Manager CHURCHx
Effie joined TUCC at the start of 2025 and manages the financial and administrative areas of the CHURCHx branch. With a background in the arts and experience in bookkeeping and legal clerical work, she facilitates communication between TUCC, contractors, and partner organisations to support the delivery of the CHURCHx programming and services. Janice Meighan - Director, Fundraising & Donor Care
Janice joined TUCC in 2023, bringing extensive professional fundraising experience and academic degrees in Christianity in the public sphere, ritual, and biblical studies. Janice directs TUCC’s culture of generous philanthropy, creating opportunities for impactful giving that align with the values and faith of individuals, congregations, and church organizations. These current and legacy gifts change lives and support the church community over the long term. Tay Moss - Innovative Ministry Centre Coordinator, Director, CHURCHx
Tay, who joined TUCC in 2020, heads up the Innovative Ministry Program and CHURCHx platform, and is also an Anglican Priest. Tay earned his M.Div. from Yale Divinity School and has been involved in creative ministries at the congregational and judicatory levels for the past 15 years. Contact Tay at imc@tucc.ca or ex. 27.
Daniel Reed - Director: Missional Lending & Investment
Daniel joined TUCC in 2024. He oversees the Investing in Ministry Fund, a congregational impact investing opportunity, and manages TUCC’s loan programs, which provide affordable financing to communities of faith undertaking capital projects. He also supports the Centre for Church Development, TUCC’s grant-making programs, and the property services team. An ordained minister in the UCC, Daniel has served congregations throughout the GTA. His ministry experience, combined with his congregational development work, enables him to support churches in planning for the future and working to strengthen their mission and ministries. Eunice Si - Rentals Manager (Lansing & Cummer)
Eunice has been involved with rental management services at TUCC in a part-time capacity since 2022. As Rentals Manager since 2024, she has responsibility for all rental enquiries for the Lansing and Cummer Ave. buildings. Contact Eunice at eunice@tucc.ca or ex. 30.
Wendy Sims - Administrative Assistant: Governance, Finance, & Office Administration
Wendy has been with TUCC since 2014. She is the Administrative Assistant primarily within the Finance, Property and Governance departments, but has a hand in just about every aspect of TUCC’s work. Jill Strapp – Director, Congregational Consulting Services
Jill joined TUCC in 2018 and is the primary contact person for congregations and ministries looking for help with planning, ministry development and fresh direction, as well as providing staff support to the Innovative Ministry Centre Training Program. Christine Swearing - Property Manager, Lansing
Christine managed the Lansing United Church facility and transferred permanently to the TUCC team in 2022. She has worked in the non-profit sector for almost two decades and then made a career shift into property management, with a keen interest in property & space utilization with purpose. As well as continuing many of her existing roles in respect to the Lansing building she will be developing her knowledge of TUCC’s property portfolio. Rafael Torres - Director of Property Services
Rafael Torres joined TUCC in 2024 after working for Colliers managing Royal Bank Plaza for the building operations, event planning and social media. Prior to that, he worked at Canderel, managing multiple properties. He is the primary contact for the extensive property management functions of TUCC including the various properties being managed by TUCC, in partnership with the various Regional Councils and Kindred Works.
