Ron Ewart - Executive Director
Ron joined TUCC in 2005 and has been Executive Director since 2014. Ordained by the United Reformed Church in the United Kingdom following studies at Oxford University, he has been a member of the order of ministry of the United Church of Canada since 2001. Ron has exercised local and regional church leadership in a variety of settings including ecumenical chaplaincy, ethnic ministry, and world mission education. Katja Brittain - Associate Director of Property & Mission
Katja Brittain joined TUCC in 2018. With Master degrees in management and theology from universities in Germany and Scotland, Katja’s work with churches is informed by experience in both the public and private sectors. Building on years of research and networking, Katja helps congregations balance the need for revenue with the use of property as an asset that supports the congregation’s mission. Ken Clarke - Director of Property Services & Capital Loans
Ken joined TUCC’s staff team in 2018 after a 35 year career in commercial banking/financing and two terms on TUCC’s board where he served as Treasurer. He is the primary contact for the extensive property management functions on behalf of TUCC and the various Regional Councils, and also for congregations seeking loans for building or renovation projects. Clare Dennis - Director Special Events & Community Services
Clare joined TUCC in 2022, to manage an expanding number of buildings and allow for more life events to happen in them. She is an experienced business leader with demonstrated success delivering and managing best-in-class sponsorships and events for non-profit, corporate and the private clients that she serves. Ali Hayes – Administrative Assistant: Communications, Program, & Event Planning
Ali joined TUCC in 2011. She coordinates the design and production of TUCC’s various print and web communications, manages the website and social media channels, and provides logistical support for fundraising and educational events. Joyce Kung CPA, CA - Director of Finance and Operations
Joyce earned her CPA, CA in 2011 and worked in public accounting before joining TUCC in 2014. Together with the Finance team, she is responsible for the delivery of finance services such as accounting, budgeting and reporting in accordance with legislative requirements and organisational policies and strategies. Tay Moss - Innovative Ministry Centre Coordinator
In addition to heading up the Innovative Ministry Program, Tay who joined TUCC in 2020, is also an Anglican Priest and serves as the Priest-in-Charge of the Church of The Messiah in Toronto. Tay earned his M.Div. from Yale Divinity School and has been involved in creative ministries at the congregation and judicatory levels for the past 15 years. Jim Patterson - Director of Financial Development
Jim joined TUCC in 2003 after operating his own fundraising consultancy for fourteen years. Jim directs TUCC’s various fundraising activities and works with donors to create and steward funds that support the church community over the long-term. His previous community development work includes employment at the Institute of Cultural Affairs and volunteer terms on the boards of Earth Day Canada, EcoLogos, Clay and Paper Theater, and Braithwaite House. Wendy Sims - Administrative Assistant: Governance, Finance, & Office Administration
Wendy has been with TUCC since 2014. She is the Administrative Assistant primarily within the Finance, Property and Governance departments, but has a hand in just about every aspect of TUCC’s work. Jill Strapp – Coordinating Consultant for the Centre for Church Development and Leadership
Jill joined TUCC in 2018 and is the primary contact person for congregations and ministries looking for help with planning, ministry development and fresh direction, as well as providing staff support to the Innovative Ministry Centre Training Program. Christine Swearing - Church & Community Facilities Manager (Lansing Centre)
Christine managed the Lansing United Church facility and transferred permanently to the TUCC team in 2022. She has worked in the non-profit sector for almost two decades and then made a career shift into property management, with a keen interest in property & space utilization with purpose. As well as continuing many of her existing roles in respect to the Lansing building she will be developing her knowledge of TUCC’s property portfolio.
