Granting Opportunities
Every year, The Toronto United Church Council (TUCC) has the privilege and joy of offering grants from several of our Designated Funds. These grants aim to foster innovative ministry, support social justice, contribute to community relief projects, facilitate United Church camping, promote reconciliation initiatives, offer leadership training, and recognize the contributions of youth and young adult volunteers. Contributions to these funds come from donors, congregations, former extension councils, other supporters, and individuals who have designated legacy gifts to TUCC, recognizing the profound and transformative impact of charitable giving.

Grant Eligibility and Scope
The Toronto United Church Council (TUCC) is not a public or open grant-making community foundation. All grants listed on this website are available by application only to incorporated ministries and communities of faith, of The United Church of Canada within Ontario.
From time to time, TUCC also administers donor-directed grants to charitable organizations outside of The United Church of Canada. These grants are established through specific gift agreements and are not open to application. Organizations receiving these grants are identified by the donor and payments are made automatically in accordance with the terms of the gift. As a result, TUCC does not accept or consider unsolicited grant applications from charities, not-for-profit organizations, or community groups that are not part of The United Church of Canada.
Applications from other organizations will not be considered or reviewed.
At TUCC, we follow the decolonizing granting practices set out by the Laidlaw Foundation, centring trust-based relationships, community-led priorities, and accessible processes. We align with these principles, as we aim to foster grantmaking that is responsive, transparent, and grounded in mutual respect. To learn more, review the Laidlaw Foundation’s Decolonizing Granting Practices.
