Toronto United Church Council is strongly committed to working with the Camps of Toronto Conference to renew their infrastructure and to continue to develop Council’s capital reserve funds for each camp to draw on.
2011 will be the fourth year that the camps have had walkers and runners in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge. More than $45,000 has been raised in the first three years.
Council has:
• established a capital reserve fund for each Camp that can be accessed for capital renewal projects.
• continued to build its own Camp Capital Care Fund to offer grants to the camps to offset the costs of property taxes and other capital expenses.
• continued to make its camp properties available rent free for United Church camping programs.
