Current networks include:
The 'Green Awakening Network', bringing together congregations committed to reducing their carbon footprint as well as taking the lead in community action on climate change. The network is working in partnership with the City of Toronto and Greening Sacred Spaces and has just received a 'Live Green' grant for its work.
The New Church Development Network links the leaders of new church development projects together for mutual support and training.
Building on the successful experience of a cross-presbytery 'More Franchises Than Tim Horton's' Learning Circle in 2008 the Centre is continuing the group for a further six months in 2009. With a membership drawn from church leaders in rural, small-town, and urban settings, the circle is now part of the of the national United Church ‘Learning Communities' program. Moderated monthly conference calls allow this mixed lay/order of ministry group reflect together in a confidential and supportive environment on themes key to their local leadership issues.
Case studies and background readings are used as material for the conversations which last about 90 minutes. Follow-up and further discussion takes place in between these meetings through a weblog reserved for the participants.
