Networks & Learning Communities

Current Networks and Learning Communities include -

The Green Awakening Network brings together individuals and congregations committed to taking action on climate change.  The network works in partnership with its financial supporters - the City of Toronto, Greening Sacred Spaces, and Live Green.

The New Church Development Network links the leaders of new church development projects together for mutual support and training.

Building on the successful experience of a cross-presbytery More Franchises Than Tim Horton's' Learning Circle in 2008, the Centre is moderating monthly conference calls on a variety of church development topics.  These Learning Communities bring together a mixed of lay and ordered church leaders to reflect together in a confidential and supportive environment on themes key to their local leadership issues.  Case studies and background readings are used as material for the conversations which last about 90 minutes.  Follow-up and further discussion takes place between these meetings through a weblog reserved for the participants.

CCDL is working with the national ‘United in Learning’ program to offer two learning opportunities in 2011/12:

Hatch, Match & Dispatch – opportunity or waste of time? Do baptisms, blessings, weddings and funerals offer an opportunity to engage with a nascent spirituality among the de-churched and un-churched? Join this group to share your experiences, reflect on how you wrestle with the issues and explore some of the things that are being written about the subject.

Amalgamations, Mergers & Other Forms of Cooperative Ministry: An opportunity to connect with others who are exploring these kinds of major transitions in the life of a congregation, and explore the personal and leadership issues that emerge as we help congregations on this journey.
