Special Nature Sacred Gathering
Date: Sunday, June 27, 2010
Time: 9 am
Location: Milne Dam Conservation Park, located off of McCowan Road south of Highway 7 – meet in east parking lot.
Description: Pathways United Church will be holding a special sacred gathering at Milne Dam Conservation Park.  The gathering will include a meditation/contemplation nature walk followed by a picnic lunch.  Please bring a picnic lunch.  Raindate:  In case of rain on the morning of the Sunday, June 27, please proceed to the Heritage Centre (17 Anna Russell Way, Unionville) for our regular sacred gathering at 10:30 am.

Fall Course on the Environment - Global Warming: Changing CO2urse
Date: Mondays, September 27 – November 8, 2010
Time: 7:30 pm – first meeting; subsequent times to be determined.
Location: York Pines United Church, 3150 Lloydtown-Aurora Road, Kettleby
Description: York Pines United Church is holding a fall course/discussion group on the topic of global warming.  The text for the course, “Global Warming: Changing CO2urse,” is from the Northwest Earth Institute.

Green Awakening Network Solar Energy Workshop
Date: Tuesday, September 28, 2010
Time: 7 pm – 9:30 pm
Location: Newtonbrook United Church, 53 Cummer Ave., Toronto
Description: This training event will provide practical help to congregations considering taking advantage of the Provincial ‘Feed-In-Tariff’ program for energy generation through solar power.  The presentation will include detailed information about the technical, financial and organizational issues involved based on the actual experience of Richmond Hill United Church and will equip participants to present a realistic picture of the opportunities and challenges of engagement in the program to their congregations.

KAIROS Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Fall Conference
Date: Friday, October 1 to Sunday, October 3, 2010
Location: Mount Mary Retreat Centre, 437 Wilson Street East, Ancaster
Description: Join Great Lakes – St Lawrence KAIROS for an inspiring weekend of hope,
encouragement and renewal.  Connect with other people who are passionate about
social justice in an ecumenical context.  This year’s theme “Walking We Make the
Way” will help to explore new ways to be in this time.  The 2010 keynote speaker is Mary Jo Leddy (Director of Romero House). Workshops on a variety of social and ecological topics will take place on the Saturday. Early bird registration is available until June 30, 2010.

Greening Our Faith Communities: Third Annual GAN/GSS Forum
Date: Saturday, March 26, 2011
Location: Eglinton St George’s United Church, 35 Lytton Blvd., Toronto
Description: Eglinton St. George’s will be the host for this third annual gathering of faith community leaders organized by the Green Awakening Network in partnership with Greening Sacred Spaces.  Information, inspiration and training for action will again be the core principles behind this event which brings together many different faith communities and traditions.

The Toronto United Church Council works with more than 300 congregations and mission units, 4 presbyteries and with Toronto Conference itself to promote the development of our church.
