For over a century, the Relief Fund of Toronto United Church Council has been an important partner of United Church congregations and agencies in their efforts to relieve innocent human suffering. The Relief Fund has contributed to the costs of retrofitting church property for social ministry - to provide food, shelter, clothing and emergency help to those who have need. It has been a channel for compassion and effective ministry.
Food banks, shelter programs, counselling services, job skills training, support groups for parents and their children, and a variety of other initiatives have all received the support of the Community Relief Fund.
The Community Relief Fund has currently made a major commitment of financial partnership to the Toronto Christian Resource Centre in Regent Park and that commitment will be the fund's priority for the next five years. To learn more about the CRC's project in Regent Park, click here.
Working together we can make a difference.
Individuals, congregations and church groups are invited to contribute to the Relief Fund to support this work. To support the Relief Fund, or for additional information on the program, please contact Jim Patterson or call Council's office.
